Originally from North India, Raj Sanghera came to the United States with a love for Indian food and the recipes passed down from generations.
When she realized people were missing the spice in their food that she adored, she created a menu that was unlike any she had experienced. In 2008 Raj opened the doors to Standard Sweets and Spices providing groceries and take out food authentic to her home country.
Rani joined Raj as the Head Chef of Standard Sweets. She wanted to introduce spice into the central valley. Rani comes from a lineage of incredible chefs. She was trained at a young age to make her mother's Tikka Masala Recipe. Now, 20 years later, she introduces it to the world!
